Kini Beach
Photo: Greece Field Guide
The Verdict
A long sandy beach facing west, quieter than Galissas, with the sunset straight down the bay.
Why go
Kini is a broad sweep of sand with fishing boats drawn up at the northern end and a handful of tavernas behind it. It faces west, which means the sunset lands straight down the bay, the water is shallow a long way out, and the wind that troubles the south coast is less of a problem. Quieter than the beaches nearer town; bus in season, or twenty minutes by car.
Understand the place
