Kastani Beach

The Verdict

The beach from the film: sand, pines, a bar at the back of the sand, and a great many more people than Milia next door.

Why go

Kastani is a small sandy bay with pines on the slope behind it and a beach bar at the back of the sand, which is why it fills earlier and stays fuller than Milia a little to the north. The sand and the shallow entry make it the better choice with children; the crowd makes it the worse one for solitude. Park on the road above and walk down rather than attempting the last stretch of track.
