Glossa

The Verdict

A stone village perched above the north coast with the widest view on Skopelos and the little chapel from the film up the road.

Why go

Glossa sits high on a ridge in the northwest, its houses stacked along a single curving street with the sea far below and Skiathos on the horizon. It is a working village rather than a resort, with a couple of tavernas and a great many steps. Down at Loutra, the little port, the chapel of Agios Ioannis Kastri stands on its own rock — the one everyone recognises — twenty minutes away by road and then a climb.
