Katergo Beach

The Verdict

Pebbles, deep blue water and cliffs on both sides — the best beach on Folegandros and one of the best in the Cyclades.

Why go

Katergo sits at the end of a dry valley below the cliffs and is reached either by boat from Karavostasis, about twenty minutes, or on foot by a rough path from the Chora end, which takes an hour or more in full sun. There are no facilities, no shade and no shelter from the wind, which is exactly why it stays empty. Take more water than you think you need.
