Tinos Town

The Verdict

A working harbour town arranged around the country's most important pilgrimage church, and the only place on Tinos with real evening life.

Why go

The church of Panagia Evangelistria sits at the top of the main street and the whole town is organised around it: marble paving, votive shops, cafés and pilgrims arriving off every ferry. The harbour is handsome and the lanes behind it belong to a real town rather than a resort strip. Everything on the island starts from here, and unlike most Cycladic ports it has a life of its own in winter.
