Anthony Quinn Bay

The Verdict

Small, green and genuinely beautiful, which is why the car park is full by eleven. Come early or not at all.

Why go

The bay is a natural amphitheatre of pine-covered rock with water that shifts from green to black where it deepens, and it is small enough to walk end to end in five minutes. Snorkelling along the rock walls is the best thing to do here. There is almost no sand and no shade, and by midday in July it is standing room only. Go at eight in the morning and it is one of the loveliest places on the island.
