Fishing boats and whitewashed houses around the small harbour of Naoussa, Paros.

Naoussa

The Verdict

Stay here rather than in Parikia. Naoussa has the harbour, the food and the evening, and Parikia has the ferry.

Why go

The old port is a small enclosed basin ringed by white houses, with the remains of a Venetian fort sitting in the water and caiques tied up against the quay. It is genuinely beautiful and it knows it, so dinner is priced accordingly and August is crowded. Stay two streets back from the harbour and the noise disappears; the beaches on the north coast are ten minutes away.
