Mount Pantokrator

The Verdict

The clearest demonstration of how close Corfu sits to Albania. Worth the drive on a clear day, pointless in haze.

Why go

A single road climbs from the north-coast villages through olive terraces to a small chapel and a radar dome on the summit. From the top the whole island lies south of you and the Albanian mountains rise immediately across the strait. Check the visibility before committing: on a hazy day you get cloud and nothing else.

Corfu's highest point, at the north end of the island, with a summit chapel and a road all the way up.
