The trip for travelers who've done the islands and want Greece's deepest history: Athens to the Bronze Age of Mycenae, the theater of Epidaurus, a romantic base in Nafplio, across to Olympia, up to Delphi, and finishing among the monasteries of Meteora. A car and eight days minimum.

Athens
Acropolis and the museum; overnight Athens.

Corinth → Nafplio
Drive south; settle into Nafplio and walk the old town.

Mycenae & Epidaurus
Day trip to Mycenae and the theater at Epidaurus; back to Nafplio.
- 04
Nafplio → Olympia
Long drive west to Ancient Olympia; overnight.
- 05
Olympia → Mystras
Olympia in the morning, then drive to the Byzantine city of Mystras.
- 06
Mystras → Delphi
Drive north to Delphi; overnight below the site.
- 07
Delphi → Meteora
Delphi in the morning, then drive to Kalambaka.
- 08
Meteora → Athens
Monasteries in the morning; drive back to Athens.
